The Air Processing Unit comprises of an Air Dryer and a Multi-Circuit Protection Valve.
It fulfills the following tasks with respect to the vehicle’s compressed air system:
- Control of the compressor
- Drying the compressed air supplied by the compressor
- Overpressure protection for the compressed air system
- Adjusting the necessary pressures for the respective circuits
- Distributing the compressed air to the circuits
- Protecting the pressure of the sound circuits in case one circuit fails
- Continuous indication of the pressures in the service brake circuits by pressure sensor
WABCO brand does continue to extend its range for the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) in the area of air processing with the launch of 4 new EC-APUs.
